Associate to the President (gn)


To support the work of the Office of the President, we are looking for an

Associate to the President (gn),

part-time (20 hours per week), with a limited contract until 30 June 2026.

Your tasks:

Support the President in her role as head of the School, as coordinated by the Office of the President

  • Preparation of meetings and visits, e.g. coordination, presentations, speaking notes, briefings, minutes
  • Correspondence (English, German)
  • Support the Office of the President with organizational tasks and support for projects including covering for President’s Personal Associate
  • Support for speech-writing for various occasions under supervision of the Personal Associate
  • Accounting tasks (processing invoices, support bookkeeping of the budget of the Office of the President, file the President's credit card statements)

Support the school-wide quality management

  • Autonomous lead of quality management projects e.g. coordinating the Bundestagslobbyregister and EU Transparency Register, plan and coordinate the programme and services evaluation, analyse results and write evaluation report for HSL
  • Compile data and contributions from various teams across the institution
  • Provide organisational support for reporting and accreditation processes
  • Support the coordination of policies and the Hertie School handbook

Committees and recurring tasks

  • Organize Cabinet meetings (scheduling, collecting reports, minutes)
  • Organize Faculty Lunch series (scheduling, catering)

 

Your profile:

  • Master or equivalent in a relevant field, e.g. in the social sciences or similar
  • Excellent organisational as well as oral and written communication skills in English and German
  • The ability to work independently, accurately and with a high degree of attention to detail
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, problem-solving skills and creativity
  • Up to three years of prior administrative experience, particularly in higher education, is an asset
  • Proficiency in MS Office applications
