Associate Examination Office (gn)


We seek to fill the following position of an

Associate Examination Office (gn)

on a part-time (30 hours/week) basis to start as soon as possible. The Examination Office of the Hertie School deals with the tasks related to study requirements and examination rules of the four Master`s degree programmes, including the issuing of official documents to students.

Your tasks:

Exam and grade management

  • Support the organization of examinations for the Master programmes
  • Ensure compliance with relevant rules and regulations
  • Organize the submission of course grades and repeat attempts for students
  • Coordinate the Master`s thesis submission & grading process
  • Manage the Exam Archive

Administration and support

  • Handle requests by students such as calculation of student rankings, processing medical certificates, internship waiver, recognition of courses from partner institutions, study breaks or study extensions
  • Issue official documents such as certificates, transcripts and diploma degrees
  • Process verifications requests by external stakeholders
  • Information maintenance particularly via the campus management system (CMS) Academy5 and the learning management system (LMS) Moodle
  • Prepare data for bi-anual statistics report

Communication

  • Provide support and guidance to students in regards to their study plan and options
  • Represent the Examination Office in info sessions for students or lecturers
  • Coordinate and closely work with relevant Hertie School stakeholders (such as Curricular Affairs, Student Life, Career Development, IT)

 

Your profile:
  • Very good German (native-level/full professional proficiency) and English language skills (professional proficiency)
  • A university degree, preferable in social science, law, administration or a related field, or 3+ years of relevant professional experience
  • Proficiency with MS-Office applications, additional experience working with a LMS and CMS, such as Moodle and Academy 5 is beneficial
  • Detail-oriented and precise working style
  • Ability to familiarize oneself with complex issues even under time pressure and provide constructive feedback
  • Good organizational skills and ability to work independently
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Reliable and ability to deal with confidential matters responsibly
  • High degree of goal and service orientation
  • Experience working in study programme management, at an Examination Office at another university or in international education is beneficial
